While praying she saw a vision from God. Minister Grimsley accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior at the age of twelve. In this vision was a dark cloud over a church, which symbolized bondage and ungodliness. God spoke and said that he was sending her back to Dickson County to be a beacon of light. It was not until fifteen years later that she received revelation knowledge of that vision.
In 1987, God miraculously healed her of an incurable disease. In 1988, Minister Grimsley acknowledged her call into the ministry. God began to groom, guide, and direct her footsteps toward her destiny as a pastor and teacher. In 1995, she was appointed Associated Pastor of Pentecostal Tabernacle Church in Nashville, TN. Later in April of 1996, she was appointed overseer of a satellite ministry in Clarksville, TN. Knowing that God was not through with her yet, she could still see the childhood vision and hear the beckoning call to return home.
In May of 1997, Word of Life Ministries of Dickson was established. What began as a weekly Bible Study is now flourishing into a spirit-filled, word-based church that is making a significant impact in Dickson and surrounding counties. Minister Grimsley is serving as pastor of Word of Life Tabernacle Church, Dickson, TN which was birthed in April of 2001.
This mighty servant of the Most High God has a dynamic gift to develop outreach ministries to aid those who want more than just enough. Each Sunday morning, for over seven years now, Pastor Grimsley is still spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ on the only consistent live radio broadcast in Dickson County. She also hosts annually two women retreats, revivals, and prayer breakfasts. Pastor Grimsley is the drill leader of a twenty member strong group of young people called “The Unity Steppers.” “The Unity Steppers” travel with Pastor Grimsley and minister quarterly to hundreds of young people at their “Jammin for Jesus” weekend.
God spoke to Pastor Grimsley at the age of 15 years of age that she would preach the word of God in Africa. The dream was fulfilled in August 2005. Pastor Grimsley was invited to preach to several thousand women at Zion Conference 2005 in Abak, Nigeria.
In addition to being the Pastor of Word of Life Tabernacle Church, she is a full-time Business teacher at Dickson County High School. She has been teaching in the public schools system for twenty-six years. Pastor Grimsley is a mother of two children, daughter Tiffany (27) Husband Cortez, son, Michael (24). She is also a grandmother of a five year old grandson, Xavier.
Pastor Cecilia F. Grimsley & Minister Dwight C. Holt, Sr. were united in holy matrimony Sunday, June 20th 2010 at Word of Life Tabernacle Church were Grimsley is the pastor. Putting their hands to the plough to work together to advance the kingdom of God. One can chase a thousand but two can put ten thousand to flight (Duet. 32:30)
Pastor Grimsley walks under a prophetic mantle of healing and deliverance and faith. This powerful, gifted, and anointed woman of God has a compassionate heart of love for the Word of God and the people of God. Pastor Grimsley relies on this unselfish love to keep her energized to fulfill the call on her life. Pastor Cecilia Grimsley lives a life of favor, love, and holiness.
